These are some great tips. Preparation is absolutely key, the audition process is already stressful enough without being worried about not being prepared. The best preparation tip is knowing you're song at any tempo. More often then not, in my experience, the accompanist doesn't play it the way I try and specify, but the best thing to do when this happens is to just keep moving forward. Don't stop your song and try and fix it. It's important to just try and keep the tempo you want in order to trigger the accompanist to follow you. A good accompanist will try and match your tempo.

Hi I love your tips not only do they inspire to break out of my shell and sing out loud but also boost my confidence,I go to the extent of recording myself on phone then listening to it later, though I would really love to have a vocal coach am short of funds, but this does not deter me since am still in college. Thank you!

This is a great collection of tips. Some tips may seem obvious but we always need to be reminded about certain things. I enjoyed the tip about not expecting the lead role the first time. This will save you a lot of disappointment in the long run. Once you have built a good track record with the director, your chances of getting that lead goes up exponetially.

Nice article, being prepared is the key i find. I think experience is also very important, I made a profile on http://www.fame4anyone.com and found some singing auditions myself through that site which helped me build up experience and confidence for auditions.
